11 suspects arrested in "Cell-14" operations against criminal organizations

Minister Yerlikaya, in his statement on his social media account, stated that as a result of the work carried out by the Sinop Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Combating and Intelligence Branch Directorates under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Security's Narcotics Crime Combating Presidency, operations were carried out in 3 provinces against the organized crime organization led by MCÖ, who is in prison.

Stating that 11 suspects belonging to an organized crime organization were detained in the operation, Yerlikaya gave information that it was determined that the suspects transported the narcotics they procured from other organization members in Sinop, Istanbul and Samsun upon the instructions of the ringleader to Sinop, stored these narcotics in the Gerze district and delivered them to individuals referred to as dealers through organization members, and that the income obtained from drug sales was transferred to individuals and accounts connected to the organization through rented bank accounts.

In the “CELL-14” operations conducted in 3 provinces centered in Sinop against the Organized Crime Organization engaged in Drug Production and Trafficking, led by MCÖ (in prison); 11 suspects were caught.❗️

Stating that 11 suspects were arrested, Yerlikaya noted the following:

"As a result of the operations, various amounts of narcotics, 4 precision scales, 6 narcotics use devices, a large amount of foreign currency, Turkish lira and gold were seized. I congratulate our Sinop Governor, our chief public prosecutors who coordinated the operations and our heroic police officers who carried out the operations."
